It has been a long time since anyone from Team Fifty has been out there talking about 'Fifty Shades of Grey'. We are excited to see one of the producers, Michael DeLuca, out at Cinema Con talking about Fifty once again.
CinemaCon, a convention for theater owners, was full of panel discussions and exclusive movie content this year. Some of the most influential names in Hollywood gathered in Las Vegas, Universal Chairman Adam Fogelson being one of them. The head of the studio that is making "Fifty Shades of Grey" took part in a "Think Tank 2.0" panel to discuss theatrical release dates. He promoted the idea of releasing big films all year long, not just in Summer and Winter. On April 17 The Hollywood Reporter stated that Fogelson and Producer Michael De Luca took part in the discussion.
Michael De Luca, half of the producing powerhouse duo for "Fifty Shades of Grey" told the crowd not to expect a literal adaptation of the novel but instead a film with the same sentiment saying, "the movie will be different from the book, " he went on to say “the book is literal by design. … The cinematic language doesn’t have to be explicit.” What does this mean to fans who expect plenty of erotic content? Hopefully De Luca is simply preparing fans for the inevitable, the film will likely be R-rated and there is only so much that censors will allow with that rating.
The biggest surprise of CinemaCon 2013 was the appearance of Henry Cavill. While many would expect the new Superman to be seen at the Warner Bros. presentation of exclusive content, Cavill was photographed by Sipa Press with girlfriend Gina Carano with the caption, "Henry Cavill and Gina Carano attend as Universal Pictures presents their slate." Henry has no future projects with Universal but Gina Carano is currently promoting "The Fast and the Furious 6." Henry Cavill has long been a favorite to play Christian Grey in the "Fifty Shades of Grey" film.
